To facilitate the delivery of market-wide solutions Conterra is partnering with the nation’s leading fiber optic network providers. Our fiber partners provide the high speed core facilities into the MTSO and build to as many cellsites as possible with fiber. Conterra extends the reach of the fiber network with licensed point-to-point microwave services to connect with outlying locations and transport the traffic back to the fiber network. This hybrid fiber/microwave approach allows Mobile Operators to maximize market coverage with the fewest number of vendors.

Conterra is currently working with many fiber operators across the U.S. to solve the backhaul problem for wireless carriers. The currently favored commercial approach is to have our Fiber Partner lead the overall network solution and have Conterra provide wholesale microwave services to that partner. This provides Wireless Carriers with a single point of contact for service ordering, service provisioning and ongoing maintenance. Where the Wireless Carrier has existing fiber hubs, or no natural fiber partner is present Conterra will serve as the lead solutions provider to the relevant locations.
