Conterra engineers wireless networks using industry standard and time-proven tools and practices. Each microwave link or hop is modeled in software to reflect real life parameters relating to equipment performance, atmospheric and propagation anomalies, operational parameters, meteorological events. A signal link budget is created based on these parameters coupled with precipitation models and geographical digital elevation models. The software determines what antenna elevations or centerlines are required to achieve line-of-sight. Predicted availability numbers are calculated and the specified equipment and equipment parameters are adjusted to meet customer service level agreement requirements.
